Tummy time

This is Cooper's newest favorite position. He mastered rolling from his back to his tummy, and now if you set him down, you will find him like this. Not just on his tummy, but up on his arms checking everything out. I know it was accidental and hopefully won't happen for a while, but he even scooched backwards. He was pushing himself up so fast he ended up moving backwards. I think he desperately wants to go where his sister goes!

Cooper's Baptism

Despite the weather today, we had a wonderful Baptism day for Cooper. He was such a good boy; he was attentive and smiled at the deacon during the service and didn't even flinch as the water went on his head. He napped during the church service; thanks to Aunt Bobbi for helping him get that quick cat nap he needed.

January pics

Cooper on 1-21-2011--the day of the unassisted rollover from back to tummy! He has been trying and kept getting stuck on his arms.

Ryan & Paige on his birthday. No candles--too much fire :)

Boom-Chick-A-Boom

Paige came home from preschool and they must be reading that book/learning the song "Boom-Chick-A-Boom." She just kept 'singing' and repeating that little part of it. Her brother laughs at her each time she sings it. He can't get enough of her and she seems to like being adored. Its a good relationship! Cooper is starting to get some really good big belly laughs and I managed to catch a few on camera.

Shopping with a 4 year old

Today we spent most of the day at home. My folks came over and took us out for lunch as a treat for Ryan's birthday tomorrow. I think that was the excuse to come over--they really needed to cuddle grandkids! Mom, Paige, Cooper and I made a quick stop at the store for a few things before heading home. Nothing out of the normal. I am in the shampoo and soap aisle looking for some bodywash. A little voice pipes up, "What's that stuff?"
"It's the soap we use on our fluffy things in the shower to get us clean," I replied.
"Oh, so you use it on your butt." she replied in a not quiet voice.
"I guess so."

The other shoppers in the aisle did a fairly decent job of not laughing directly at me and acting like they didn't hear us. Bless them.

Baptism postponed

Cooper will not be getting baptized this weekend; we will now do it on the 30th because of the icky winter roads and Auntie Bobbi and Grampa Keith not being able to come. Not a big deal; just lets me take a nap this afternoon instead of cleaning for company :) We had pulled it together on such short notice anyway, that another 2 weeks isn't going to hurt anything. As long as Mr. Chunky doesn't outgrow the outfit we had our great personal shopper send us, we'll be doing great. I don't forsee him doing that, but with the way he's been eating the last few days, who only knows. Here is hoping for better weather in two weeks!

"I gots a bras on"

I need to tell a story; one of my favorite ones of 2010 regarding Paige. Paige likes to run around without a shirt or pants on; whichever she can get away with. Especially at grammas house; as rules tend to be a little. . .looser there. I was on the phone with my Mom and Paige was there that Saturday helping decorate the tree. "Mom, does she have clothes on?" I asked.

"She has pants on." Mom said.

"I am trying to get her to at least wear a shirt and then shorts if we have to, she's old enough she needs to stay covered. Tell her to get her goobies covered." For those that don't know, as soon as Paige could talk, she called her boobies, her goobies. Too cute to be corrected.

Mom told me she would. Later on that afternoon, I got a phone call with gramma's solution. Paige got home and sort of sashayed up to me. "Mom, I gots a bras on," she sort of stage whispered with a ton of pride in her little voice.

"Really? Show me"

She slid the top of her little shirt over so I could see the strap. Gramma had taken a sports bra and sewn it in and then sewn the straps. It basically ended up being a very large tube top with huge straps, but there was never more joy on anyone's face than Paige's. The look on her face was almost as great as the priceless one on her Daddy's when his four year old marched up to him and said, "Dad, I gots a bras on!" There were no words to describe the look. I laughed so hard and told him not to worry, it'll be okay. He has a daughter, and its part of the territory!
