So its been 50 degrees the last two days. The snow is starting to melt, there is all kinds of slush and mud. There was thunder and lightning tonight. There were geese honking overhead. And its raining--in March. More snow coming up over the next few days. Wow, what a country.
Paige is thrilled with the nice weather and loves to be outside in the slush. We had to go 'assist' her Daddy in his pickup because of a slushy situation in which the pickup and horse trailer where a little . . .stuck. He probably won't admit it; but we had to pull them a little. We are in 'my' pickup and she is telling me about her tired she is, she's dizzy (?), etc. I told her we'd be back inside in a few minutes. She looks at me and says, "Mom, its been a long day." Wow, almost three she sounds like she is thirteen. Scary.

Great question
"Mom, where do I get a prince?" is what I was asked last night while watching Sleeping Beauty with Paige. Wow, where do you start with that question? At the age of 2 she has discovered one of the female gender's biggest mysteries. I laughed and told her to go ask her Dad.
So she went and harassed him and played Sleeping Beauty with him. She laid on my pillow and closed her eyes until he kissed her. Daddy makes a good prince.
Also, tonight she had a booger on her finger and tried to give it to me. I said to hang on to it and don't touch anything until we get a Kleenex. I picked her up and headed for the bathroom. She looks at me all innocent and asks, "Should I put it back in my nose?" Um, no. But at least she didn't touch anything with that finger.

I'm loved. . .
I didn't marry a flower guy; he doesn't randomly shower me with flowers 'just because'. He's a sweet loving guy, and I am actually very pleased he doesn't financially support the flower shops on a regular basis since I think they are a waste of money and they die in 3 days. However. . .I do squeal with delight when he does come through and I get a bouquet on my desk. He has to spend Valentine's Day apart from his girls, so I got some roses to know he will miss me. They looked great on my desk and I have been smiling ever since. I know they are a commercialized thing for Valentine's Day, but I still like 'em!

Snow
So I was very unprepared for the 9 inches of snow we got yesterday! We weren't supposed to get much of anything, and then boom at noon it started to snow. I drove my car to work, rather than the four wheel drive, and didn't have my boots with me. My dad would have kicked my butt if he knew I didn't have boots with me. So I was running around trying to clean off my car in dress shoes. Needless to say, I had very cold wet feet after picking Paige up and finally arriving home. We almost got stuck at daycare and I didn't think the trusty Buick would forge through the snow on our road home, but she did. It is good snowman snow; we'll have to see if we can make a snow creature this weekend. I am thinking a snow-woman with pink flowers in honor of Valentine's Day. . .

Valentine Bobbers
I read this really great article in a magazine that talked about taking the same picture of your child over the years--get them to wear the same thing and try to take it in the same setting. Their example was a mom had a great old vintage swimsuit that had been her mothers and she put her daughter in it each year--starting from birth and every year on her birthday they took a swimsuit picture. They had 16 years worth of pictures on one page and they looked fabulous. You saw this baby swimming in this suit through the years until she was 16 years old and standing their posing like a model. The pictures were very simple and the focus was on the daughter. I thought that was a neat idea; but I don't own a really cool piece of clothing I want to hang on to for the next 18 years. So I decided we'll do a Valentine picture with our 'bobbers' on because is fun and silly. Now that I have a few I am really happy I am doing it. I know in a few years I will have to force her to do it; but hopefully she'll humor me with it.
So gear up for Valentine's Day. . .you have a week to get your chocolates bought!
